Can people really change?

Can people really change?

Can people really change?

Change means to cause to be different, to go from one form to another, to transform. It is common knowledge that everything is constantly changing, at every new moment we are different. It is said you can never step into a river at the same spot twice. Life is all about change, the changing of the seasons, and the changing of the guard. Change is inevitable, however the kinds of change that we all hope for, seems to be elusive.

We live with big contradictions. It is said that all of our struggles are a result of resisting change and yet we tend to staunchly resist change. It is also commonly thought that you can’t change anyone; you can maybe only change yourself. Even thought change is everywhere, we like to say people never change, things in the world will never change, we will always have crime and wars, its just human nature. We try to change ourselves but because of our negative beliefs we tend to sabotage the changes that we long for, such as losing weight and becoming healthier.

Change or Die!

I recently read a book entitled “Change or Die” by Alan Duetschman. He illustrates many great examples of successful programs that have transformed people lives and changed them forever. In particular Dean Ornish’s heart patient program and the Delancey Street Foundation in San Francisco working with convicts.

These programs are examples of programs that offer what he calls the three R’s. Studies have shown that in order to truly change people’s lives you have to offer programs that they can Relate to, Reframe and Repeat
Relate to means that the participants receive hope and inspiration from the program concepts and from the people offering the program. Reframe means the program has to offer a new vision, a way of reframing how the participants view their lives and their opportunities.

Repeat means it has to be a program that has a protocol that can be repeated over and over again until it is becomes a natural habit. When all three of these components are in place, permanent change can occur.

You Can Do It

Our new Ageless Living Lifestyle Wellness Coaching Program is about creating lasting change by modeling this successful protocol.

The Ageless Living Lifestyle Wellness Program emphasizes that when you reframe how you think your life can be, you then can create productive change. In other words your beliefs create your reality. The program also offers new hope and people to relate to. There are role models and examples of supportive evidence from around the world from the people who are currently successfully practicing the lifestyle. Participants have a new vision of how life can and should be as we age.
