It seems most people have a difficult time committing to a regular exercise program. When I ask people if they would like to be physically fit and enjoy all of the associated benefits, such as looking better, feeling better, higher self esteem, more energy, more strength, more endurance, better flexibility, less stress and on and on, they almost always say YES!
And yet only a small percentage of the population is actually doing it. I have spent many years considering all the excuses people use for not getting fit. Guess what? I have found there are no good reasons to support a rationale for this destructive behavior. Let’s look at the main excuses people give for not exercising.
Change means to cause to be different, to go from one form to another, to transform. It is common knowledge that everything is constantly changing, at every new moment we are different. It is said you can never step into a river at the same spot twice. Life is all about change, the changing of the seasons, and the changing of the guard. Change is inevitable, however the kinds of change that we all hope for, seems to be elusive.
We live with big contradictions. It is said that all of our struggles are a result of resisting change and yet we tend to staunchly resist change. It is also commonly thought that you can’t change anyone; you can maybe only change yourself...
It seems we have a negative image of what it’s like to be 100. Even though very few of us know anyone of age 100, the image commonly held is one of being weak, sick and unable to take care of oneself.
This negative image of aging comes from the fact that too many people find themselves in poor physical condition at an early age. In my opinion this undesirable condition of aging is due primarily to a lack of proper nutrition and physical exercise.
If we could maintain a high level of mental and physical fitness all of our life, we would no longer dread aging. The great news is we can, we really can! The real point is not only that we can, but that we should...
The human race is on a locomotive speeding ever faster down a track that is about to run out. Many scientist and world leaders say a serious derailment is imminent.
World population is increasing, energy consumption is radically increasing, and the basic necessities of water, food and housing are increasing. The production of these necessities requires energy and the world’s primary source of energy is based on a non renewable, polluting, finite source, oil. Next to oil, arms are the biggest industry. Guns and bombs are used to commit atrocities and mass murder against our so called enemies. We have even gone so far as to create weapons of mass destruction that have the potential to destroy all of life on earth.
You have to spent some energy to get more, similar to making money. Many studies have shown that regular exercise is natures best tranquilizer. Research has shown that people who exercise regularly, go to sleep quicker.
Studies also show exercising improves memory, concentration and reaction time. Studies have shown that non exercisers have at least twice the risk of developing a serious disease. Regular exercise improves aerobic capacity.
Research has shown that exercisers feel better about how they look and how they relate to others.

I often do workouts with clients or just by myself at parks and playgrounds and I have observed a strange phenomenon, at least it is to me. I see moms and dads come to the playground with their kids, ho are excited to be there and are running around having a great time.
However the vast majority of parents just sit down and watch their kids having fun and getting some good exercise.
I see so many moms sitting on their fat buts looking at their ‘smart phones” wasting their time on unsocial media, in my opinion of course. They could be having some fun and getting some exercise with their kids.
Everyone knows that exercise is good for you, but the real question is what type and how much is really good for you?
Of course it depends on individual needs and capabilities. If you are an athlete in your 20s and 30s most anything goes as your body can recover well. Age 40 is basically the cut off when we need to begin taking better care of our bodies.
This is shown by professional athletes who have slowed down and most have retired by age 40.
1. Buying into the mainstream social narrative that everyone is going to become old and probably will need some form of assisted living.
If this is what you believe, it is what you will create. Our beliefs do create our reality. If you change your belief to I can stay healthy and fit and energetic all of my life, then you can make the necessary lifestyle changes to support this belief.
2. Not knowing the difference between aging and old.
The definition of aging is to become fully mature, to reach your full potential like fine aged wine. Old is to be worn out, used up, unexcited about your life.
